We talk to the new director about exhibitions, history and a great cafe.
Moira Lascelles is the new director of Burgh House, where we’ve visited some great exhibitions over the years. We caught up with her to ask her about the house’s history and what she has planned for it.
Can you tell us about the history of Burgh House?
Burgh House is a Grade I listed Queen Anne House dating back to 1704 and situated in Hampstead, North London. It is a vital community hub and hosts a year-round programme of art exhibitions and cultural events, including recitals in the stunning wood-panelled Music Room.
Burgh House is also an Arts Council England-accredited museum with a wonderful collection relating to the House, Hampstead and the wider local area. And if that wasn’t enough, there is also a beautiful café and a small gift shop.
And the best bit is that it is totally free to visit on Wednesdays through to Fridays and on Sundays.
